Alfonso has more than 30 years of experience in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, CSFB, UBS, and HSBC. At Deutsche Bank (2005-2016) he was Head of Investment Banking Spain and member of the Executive Committee in Spain.

At present, he serves as senior advisor to Mediobanca S.p.A. He is also on the Board of Geoblink, a location intelligence company, and on the Strategic Board of Homeserve Spain, a subsidiary of Homeserve Plc. He is also a professor on International Capital Markets at the UFV University in Madrid.

He holds an MBA (Finance & Business Economics) by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a BA in Business & Economics (Economic Theory and Econometrics) by the Complutense University in Madrid. He has recently attended the Executive Program at Singularity University in Silicon Valley, California, focusing on Exponential Technologies.
